lessinian loop

the

This adventure was born from two main ideas: one was to finally ride translessinia and the other to celebrate my 30's birthday.
Spoiler, the outcome was splendid.

The loop starts from Verona train station and after some kms of biking lanes the first hills start to show, the first part of the route is mainly tarmac with hints of gravel which from one moment to another make you feel somewhere remote, we stopped to have lunch at Grezzana and then continue pedaling until Roverè veronese, where we spent the night.

Day two was also promising, so we woke up early and hit the road, we reached Rifugio Lausen for lunch, and it was definitely a highlight, we felt at home and recharge our batteries and souls. The night catched us at Malga Campolevà di Sotto, after a climb where views were starting to get better and better, the gravel was showing and Lessinian hills too!

As every good finish, we left the best for last, and Translessinia did not disappointed, views, roads and nature were shining bright in front of our eyes, those kms were pure gravel magic.
We were planning on a short last day to take the train and get home back early, but life had other plans for us... There was a train strike that Sunday, so we pedaled back to Verona from Avio station, it was actually fun since it was mainly over a cycle lane and the day was sunny, it is also the line that closes the loop so I guess it was meant to be!
(Marta probably won't agree to this last statement hahahah)

The Lessinian loop It's a slow life adventure if done in 3 days.
This area is absolutely beautiful and will give you the chance to enjoy great roads, off road tracks and the best gastronomical experiences.
The routes in the Komoot collection start and end on the places we stayed and fully recommend (Hotel Centrale - Roverè veronese & Malga Campolevà di Sotto) a different option would be to sleep at Refugio Lausen, which is an amazing spot to sleep and eat too.

Drop me a line if you do this loop anytime!
Thank you for reading and sharing.
